Emotion:quaint.
Random Thought:so much has happened in such little time.
What:nik talking about confusion.
so as i said before so much has happened in such little time. i think i've more hateful of the world and its surroundings. i liked living in the dark, but we can only stay there for so long. my hibernation has ended. action is being taken once again. my drive to purge the world of evils has erupted with the governor's decision to drawback spending on academics. how beautiful it was to read the newspapers and online headlines the day after the student protest. The govenor suggested that we "close the borders" one day and the next he blamed it on his lack of vocabulary. . quoting, ""Yesterday was a total screw-up in the words I used," he said. "Because instead of closing, I meant securing. I think maybe my English, I need to go back to school and study a little bit."
Now let's take a moment and think about that, shall we? How beautiful is it that he mentions two hot topics in one mere comment. With these proposed education cuts will there be sufficient funds to RE-EDUCATE the GOVERNOR? He needs to go back to school and study a little bit in addition to closing the borders? Now I don't know about you but I'm damn right confused. Yes, I understand that he is an almighty rich action movie star former mr. universe who paid for his campaign with his money, but what about us, the real people of society, the middle class, who have to work our asses off and make the money to go to school. who are suffering because the lack of classes offered thus forcing us to take classes we don't need in order to maintain full time student status and in the end, we have over 132 units, and WE (STUDENTS) will be penalized for this with an excess fee unit? in addition to cutting cal grants? AB 700
let's talk about another issue, the issue of age discrimination within cal grants. students must apply within 18 months after graduating high school to qualify for cal grants, but reality is that most students are 24 years old and in need of financial aid. They can't receive is because obviously they are overage, they had to do other things, work, raise a family, etc. Most of these applicants are mothers who were unable at the time to attend school, but now they have the ability and desire to go to school. Why not provide funds to these students as well instead of forcing them to compete for funds through competitive cal grant?
argh. . i wish you could understand how disgusted i am with the workings of society and how hurt i am by what i know. how sometimes i wish i was ignorant so i didn't know. i'm obviously aware for a reason.
to be continued.
