confession: this is crap.
i'm trying to create a new template and i don't want to resort to xanga. damn. when i try to be creative my plan faulters. boo. so yes, my mind has been stimulated by the institution. i believe i'm back to my normal philisophical, deep-thinking self. the past three weeks since school has started i've been so angry during class. ethnic groups are continously misrepresented and/or there is no representation in textbooks. it's sad to say, but i always try to look for myself in my lesson. myself - meaning my filipino side. i know the american deal, i've studied american history for many years. then again, america is a melting pot of many cultures so why aren't all of them mentioned in history books? maybe i'm just not reading the right books, but these books miss out.
funny thing:
in american history 130. . we are studying what it means to be an AMERICAN. what does it mean to be an AMERICAN? how can you know if you're not represented in the history, knowing that you have a lot do with the country? maybe i'm not putting two and two together, maybe i'm stupid, but i know damn well i'm not.
think about this:
you know how we have little tokyo and china town in CA, USA. do you think other countries have mini-america?
so back to this whole concept of being american. i think this country is falling into its own abyss. accusations from all directions, discrimination, "white privelege", etc., etc. i can rant on and on. maybe i'm a "cultural outsider" ha. don't get me wrong, it's a good thing to be here in the US of A. e pluribus enum, out of many, one. but i think times are a changin'. it's not out of one, many.
